Autumn was another busy period with multiple new vehicles being completed and delivered around Australia.

Among them is this Isuzu FYH which, following joint engineering development with Palfinger, can lift over 1100kg at more than 6m and 2000kg at 4m to the side of the truck whilst on a 160mm cant – All without using the crane legs.

Many road-rail crane trucks operating in Australia require stabiliser legs to be deployed in order to use the crane safely. This not only takes time but in some cases it’s not possible to use the legs whilst on-rail. By utilising the Aries Hyrail equipment for stability and support, the crane can perform in a similar manner to how it would with legs deployed.

The crane was tested in accordance with AS1418 by technical staff from Palfinger’s European factory in Austria who flew into Perth to carry out the work at Aries Rail.
