Aries Rail recently completed this Isuzu FVR 4×2 hi-rail EWP truck. Built to comply with the latest Australian Standards including AS7502:2016 and AS1418:2011 the vehicle is able to travel with the boom deployed on a combined 1:24.5 gradient and 160mm cant whilst still passing a twist test. This ability makes it a game changer for the road-rail vehicle industry which, until now has been mostly filled with poorly engineered non-compliant EWP trucks at worst, and at best, EWP trucks that cannot travel with the boom deployed.

The EWP has a basket capacity of 225kg making it suitable for the majority of tasks in an OLE maintenance environment with operator crush protection, integrated E-Stops and fail-safe brakes providing optimum safety.

The front Aries Hyrail equipment is an all-new design, retracting inside the original Isuzu bumper which, has been moved forward by less than 200mm from the original position. This greatly enhances on-road safety, improves pedestrian safety and makes the vehicle easy to road licence anywhere in Australia.

The vehicle was subject to a rigorous testing regime both on-rail and in the Aries Rail workshop. The image below shows the vehicle setup on a combined 1:24.5 gradient and 160mm cant during stability and twist testing. Wheel unloading when twist-tested in accordance to AS7502 remained well below 60% indicating an exceptional level of stability.

The vehicle is just one of many types available in the Aries Rail EWP range. For an overview of the range, visit the EWP Page.
